The Excommunication of Dr. Curry

The Chuch of CAGW has begun it’s Inquistion and it has found it’s first victim

Dr. Judith Curry is now being attacked and excommunicated from the Church of CAGW all because she said people should read a book.

I am not making this up that is the position the lesser priests in the Church after Dr. Curry ran afoul of a couple of the High Priests of the Church on their website RealClimate. Who was it she ran afoul of? Gavin Schmidt for having the termidity to dispute some of the claims made in the review of the book “The HockeyStick Illusion” by the Church of CAGW’s water boy Tamino aka Grant Foster and that people should read the book itself. This also got her afoul of  Michael “Upside Down with a 180° twist” Mann who invented the Church’s Holy Object the Hockeystick Graph.

Now Dr. Curry is not someone that doesn’t believe in Radiative Physics or that Man Made CO2 is playing apart in the world warming. Matter of fact she would be to most Skeptics considered a luke warmer at best, but for the most part considered a warmer but not an Alarmist. As shown peviously in this blog and in a linked aticle from WUWT Dr. Curry has not been in our ranks, but we will gladly welcome her into our ranks of so called “deniers”  by the Alamists after this. I will not give links to the blogs run by these lesser priests (William Connellys Stoat or Tim Flannery’s Deltoid), you can look them up yourself if you want to see the ugly truth of these people.

For anyone that knows anything about the history of the Catholic Church during the time of the Inquistion know the Catholic Church Banned reading certain books and they continued this practice all the way up to 1966:

The Index Librorum Prohibitorum (“List of Prohibited Books”) was a list of publications prohibited by the Catholic Church. The final (20th) edition appeared in 1948, and it was formally abolished on 14 June 1966 by Pope Paul VI.[1][2]

And what was some of the books the chuch banned?:

The avowed aim of the list was to protect the faith and morals of the faithful by preventing the reading of immoral books or works containing theological errors. Books thought to contain such errors included some scientific works by leading astronomers such as Johannes Kepler‘s Epitome astronomiae Copernicianae, which was on the Index from 1621 to 1835.

And what was the punishment? Well just look at what happened to Giordano Bruno for believing and writing about the plurality of worlds, he was burned at the stake by the Inquisition

In particular Bruno held firm to his belief in the plurality of worlds, although he was admonished to abandon it. His trial was overseen by the Inquisitor Cardinal Bellarmine, who demanded a full recantation, which Bruno eventually refused. Instead he appealed in vain to Pope Clement VIII, hoping to save his life through a partial recantation. The Pope expressed himself in favor of a guilty verdict. Consequently, Bruno was declared a heretic, and told he would be handed over to secular authorities. According to the correspondence of one Gaspar Schopp of Breslau, he is said to have made a threatening gesture towards his judges and to have replied:“Maiori forsan cum timore sententiam in me fertis quam ego accipiam (Perhaps you pronounce this sentence against me with greater fear than I receive it).”[16] He was quickly turned over to the secular authorities and, on February 17, 1600 in the Campo de’ Fiori, a central Roman market square, “his tongue imprisoned because of his wicked words” he was burned at the stake.[17] His ashes were dumped into the Tiber river. All Bruno’s works were placed on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum in 1603.

So more and more the Alamists and the Enviromentalists show themselves as nothing more then another reglion, one that is following in the footsteps of the Catholic Church. Take Carbon Cedits as an example, you buy them from someone else so that you can emit more CO2. Doesn’t that sound awfully like the old Indulgences the Catholic Church sold, so that you could just buy your way out and just keep on sinning as long as the money held out?

The later Middle Ages saw the growth of considerable abuses, such as the unrestricted sale of indulgences by professional “pardoners”[4] (quaestores in Latin), who were sent to collect contributions to the project. In many cases the preaching of these, out of ignorance or shrewdness, went far beyond dogmatic teachings; some of them even dared to promise that the damned would be released from hell. Permission began to be granted to Catholic kings and princes, particularly on the occasion of Crusades, to retain for themselves a rather considerable part of the alms collected for the gaining of indulgences. The most well-known and debated question is the indulgence granted for building the new St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.[31]

The Fourth Lateran Council (1215) suppressed some abuses connected with indulgences, spelling out, for example, that only a one-year indulgence would be granted for the consecration of churches and no more than a 40-days indulgence for other occasions. The Council also stated that “Catholics who have girded themselves with the cross for the extermination of the heretics, shall enjoy the indulgences and privileges granted to those who go in defense of the Holy Land.”[34]

But very soon these limits were widely exceeded. False documents were circulated with indulgences surpassing all bounds: indulgences of hundreds or even thousands of years.[31] In 1392, more than a century before Martin Luther published the 95 Theses, Pope Boniface IX wrote to the Bishop of Ferrara condemning the practice of certain members of religious orders who falsely claimed that they were authorized by the pope to forgive all sorts of sins, and exacted money from the simple-minded among the faithful by promising them perpetual happiness in this world and eternal glory in the next.[35]

So what is next fo the Alamists and their Church of CAGW? Will their Inquistion call for burning at the stake next? But in the mean time welcome to the world of the sane Dr. Curry, welcome to the world of the “denialist” as the Alarmists call us because we want to read a book, look at the evidence and make up our own minds.
