There is the old Greek legend of Diogenes of Sinope wandering around during daytime with a lamp. When asked what he was doing, Diogenes was suppose to have said “Looking for an Honest Man”.
It seems that an Honest Man can be found at NASA GISS – Dr. Andrew Lacis.
His scathing (and it is the only way to describe his comments) comments on Chapter 9 of the IPCC’s 4th AR cut right to the heart of the climate debate. I’ll only be producing a small snippet here, to get the rest visit the Blog of Bishop Hill who has just published a book on the Hockey Stick graph, The Hockey Stick Illusion.
There is no scientific merit to be found in the Executive Summary. The presentation sounds like something put together by Greenpeace activists and their legal department. The points being made are made arbitrarily with legal sounding caveats without having established any foundation or basis in fact. The Executive Summary seems to be a political statement that is only designed to annoy greenhouse skeptics.
